Ovation Finance is a chartered financial planning firm based in Bristol. In 2020 they celebrated their 20th anniversary, and their primary focus is to help clients use their wealth to accumulate life, not the other way round.

Ovation’s financial planners use coaching skills to help clients understand what is important to them, as well as what truly motivates them. This allows Ovation to create a financial plan that helps clients to be happier, not just wealthier.

As a team they are passionate about helping the wider financial planning community. For example, Ovation’s founder, Chris Budd and director Tom Morris are the founding directors of the Initiative of Financial Wellbeing. They have also been producing the Financial Wellbeing Podcast since 2016.

Ovation became employee owned in March 2018, with a majority of the shares owned by an Employee Ownership Trust. With this they have found that the team have become more empowered and have taken on a ‘business owner’ mindset. This was certainly tested during the Covid pandemic, when the team responded by making sure the business continued to thrive, and the client service kept at high levels, even enhanced wherever possible.
